An interesting dive into the language we’ve developed to explain our emotions and how it can hold us back. I took a lot of notes for this one!

Atlas of the Heart is an important book. It needs to be read as part of a sequence of books by the author. It is best understood in the context of Brenee Brown’s approach to data and reporting on it. After reading several of her other books, I read a few more before I felt ready to delve deeply into this one.

I am glad that I waited and that I gained some perspective from her other works.

I would recommend this book to fans of the author and to everyone who is struggling to find meaning and effective ways to communicate about emotions in their life.

This book is for the Open Hearted and for those of us who aspire to become Open Hearted.

The author is the very best narrator of her own material. I don’t believe that any actor could add anything to this work. In fact, I would argue that a great acting performance might detract from, or even weaken the impact of the material.

. I gave it four stars because each reader will be challenged to find that 5th star when they do the work laid out in this book.

Beautiful; definitely going to get a hard copy—though the audiobook (read by Brown herself!) was wonderful

I think this would be really good required reading for high schoolers. Using precise language to communicate your emotions is such a valuable life skill and Brené's here to help us with it!
