nahr and bilal, despite everything. what a blindingly beautiful love.

i love nahr as a character deeply, and i felt her anger, pain, love, appreciation... everything from abulhawa's prose and powerful storytelling. but it was quite heavy and i had to take a lot of pauses while reading, so be careful.

One of the best and most powerful books I’ve ever read.

This is a very beautifully written book about a very tough reality. The lines between fiction and non fiction blend together so well. That it feels like an autobiography. With current events, this book carries a greater intensity to the issue. Although I really enjoyed it, the book was a heavy read. I had to take breaks between and will be reading lighter material for a bit. However, I highly recommend everyone to give this book a read.
