this book is actually insane...
so in the first half i feel like i'm so smart and i have it all figured out, and i do KINDA have it, but then the twists come. and then the end hits you like like a freight train. this is how i wanted to feel during "The Silent Patient"
(not that im complaining about the silent patient at all)

Without giving too much away, interesting ending. I started to see some detail holes but I just went with the story to see where it would lead. I was entertained. (sorry, don't want to leak anything).
Well that kept me on a roller coaster till the very end. I did figure certain parts out early on but i was not expecting the end so that made this book a great read for me.
The Wrong Sister is about a women named Tess who happens to stumble upon a women who looks identical to her leaving a hotel. Seeing this women for a second time Tess becomes intrigued and decides to go talk to her. As she gets to know this women things start to get strange besides looking identical their birthdays are the same and you learn some other strange and compelling facts. The story unfolds in figuring out could this be her twin? Why did her mother abandon her and did she do it to raise her twin sister?
The novel really goes from a mystery to some serious mental health issues that i did not see coming. If your looking for an easy read with a great twist at the end then i would reccommend this one.

I read this book not knowing anything about explored. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it.
Tess Kincaid is about to turn 30. She has a job she loves at the local library, but feels inadequate that she is a college drop out with an alcoholic father. To make matters worse, Tess’s mother left the family when Tess was only 12 years old.
A dead body is found, and the police question Tess. Tess then tells the backstory of the last week or so, weaving a complex tale.
One day Tess sees a woman that is her look-alike. The woman, Mimi Winslow, befriends Tess, insisting they must be twins separated at birth. Tess’s love interest, John, cautions Tess to be where of Mimi. Test begins to doubt everything. She even questions her father about the story of her birth. The novel also explores Tess’s odd, dependency relationship with her father. When Tess discovers that most of what Mimi said to her is false, the story races to a startling conclusion.
All the clues were there, but cleverly woven into this twisty psychological thriller.

Have you ever seen someone who looked a little like you? Perhaps on a movie or a TV show and thought wow, we could be cousins or maybe even sisters. Perhaps you know someone in real life who you think carries some resemblance to you.
Tess Kincaid lives a quiet life, the life of a librarian and although she makes it clear she is not really a Librarian she certainly takes on all the responsibilities of one. Tess is guarded, quiet, lives a quiet life alone in her little apartment. She also helps takes care of her aging alcoholic father, bringing him food and taking out the trash.
One day while driving she notices a woman at a hotel who looks so much like her she is a little taken back. They lock eyes for a moment, and then the traffic moves on and she forgets about this woman for a few days.
A while later while using the same bathroom they both go to wash hands and lock eyes in the mirror. Mimi was the first to speak "Well, I'll be damned".
Once the coincidences become more, they share a birthday, their mother shares a birthday, they begin to accept the truth, that they are sisters, twins, switched at birth.
They get to hear each others different perspectives on how they grew up. One with their mother, and one who was abandoned by their mother. Tess wonders why their mother chose to go live with Mimi.
I really liked the authors style of writing. How the book is written as Tess is telling her story in a police station, it flashes back from the current police scenario, to the story she is telling that happened since meeting Mimi, and then even a little further into the past as the story progresses.
I enjoyed how the story played out, some of it was a little predictable. The complete ending changed that a little, there was one last twist that I was not expecting.
I would have liked the story of John to have played out a little more, I feel like he was chopped out of the book quickly and not "finished".
I did enjoy the story line and would love to read something else by this author.
4 stars for me!!

The book was slow to start, and I wasn't really a fan of some of the storyline of the main character. An example, the way that Tess is so short-fused was frustrating, and a good portion of the detail of her day to day was too detailed and probably not necessary. However, the book had a few really amazing twists. Once I thought the final twist had happened, another twist was right around the corner. Overall it was a great read and it was nice to be surprised at the end.
