The Lake of Dreams

This book was 80% family history and 20% romance - which is bad, because I found the family history stuff to be very boring. Also, I preferred her relationship with Keegan to the one she had with Yoshi.

Was more interested in Rose and Iris than Lucy. Their story was fascinating. Should have been a complete novel about them. Lucy was too whiny.

Good descriptions, nice writing. A fine read. Wraps up happily-ever-after by the end. Nothing knock-your-socks off about it, but pleasant all around.

It was.......just ok. I love the Memory Keeper's Daughter, but felt that this one was not nearly as interesting.

I read an ARC and the whole time kept thinking how nice it would be to have a family tree. After turning the last few pages, I see that a family tree is to come in the official release. Thank goodness!

I prefered this over my previous Kim Edwards' read ([b:The Memory Keeper's Daughter|10441|The Memory Keeper's Daughter|Kim Edwards|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1266450174s/10441.jpg|2868431]). Though I did skip over a lot of (what I feel to be) excessive dream "footage" and description.

Bottom line: a good book, but not great.

Although it felt like it too me forever to read, I was able to sit yesterday and finish the last 120 pages. I found myself really moved by this book as I read the last 25 pages. The entire book was historically interesting as it put a personal touch on the women's suffrage movement, pointing out many things we take for granted today.

This is a beautifully written book that discusses many current and historically relevant issues. The issues are brought up through a family history discovery. A great read!

Such a great book. I couldn't put it down. I really appreciated how unpredictable it was.

Absolutely loved this book. Beautiful story about our family history and how it can affect us. I loved the characters, I loved the way the story came full circle.
