A poor mother and a mother spider live parallel lives in the cold Ukraine. When the woman brings the small fir inside (with the spider and her children), the spider shows her gratitude by spinning beautiful designs on the tree.

An ok story but it didn't excite me. Predictable, which is never what I'm looking for in a story.

The front cover does not do justice to the illustrations on the inner pages. I liked this one. Maybe it was just different enough from all the other holiday books that I was reading through but I enjoyed reading it and would share it with others.
