emotional hopeful inspiring reflective sad tense medium-paced

This is the first time I've read Andrea Gibson's work and I do not have words to describe the depth of which this book touched me. It was recommended to me by a librarian friend and, despite having finished it, I haven't returned it and find myself returning to different poems and just sitting with them and letting them hit me in the best ways.

I see so many of the issues I struggle with reflected so beautifully and tenderly in their words. There's no way for me to pick one poem that stands out because they all have such depth and power.

I am looking forward to reading more of Andrea Gibson.

I finished this two days ago but forgot to update it because I was crying too much

then I ordered all of Andrea's books

I guess we've got a new obsession

The capacity to dive into humanness in all its glory and all the hell it encloses is what makes the magic of A. Gibsons poetry. She takes you by the hand, leads you into the middle of your own darkness and says: we can hold this together.

emotional hopeful

Never has a book of poetry elicited stronger emotions in me. A perfect collection. No notes.
