Andrea Gibson’s work has been a constant source of inspiration and catharsis to me. The way they use poetics to convey just about every emotion in one poem is so incredibly well done, and something you don’t see all that often these days. Gibson is a treasure of a poet and I’m so grateful their work exists. This collection was incredible. And to answer the question on page 88: no.

Their poetry has been at times a lifeline, a lighthouse, an epiphany. This year in particular I've clung to every tender line, each word a balm to the aching in my chest. A reminder that even in sorrow I can find beauty. During some of my hardest moments these past few months I've thought of messaging Andrea in the hopes that they might see my plea and send me an early copy because I truly believed there would be some cure for me in their words. There were many days I couldn't imagine making it to November. But here I am. My heart bursting with gratitude at being seen and carried by the infinite love I've found on these pages.

Absolutely loved. It was like if you were in a disaster and the emergency crew puts those heat blankets on you. Soothing while silly. Bringing light into the dark. So glad I have the paperback to underline and go back to.
