So much was good about this novel.  Really only one character grabbed me though, which is why I should avoid novels of multiple viewpoints and timelines.  I never find them satisfying as the author keeps veering away from the most interesting person's narrative viewpoint.

Too much tragedy for one family! Made the focus too much on the tragedy not the family. Lovely writing and scene setting, particularly appreciated the gymnastics scenes as I also attended gymnastics at the same place around the same time
