Made me think of my friendships, past and present.

A wonderful book I won through Goodreads.

It's taken me a while to get through the books I've won through the site but I'm glad I started with this one. Not knowing at all what the book was going to be about, I dived right in and was pleasantly surprised by the author's humor and the many tales about her good friends and the lessons she learned throughout her relationships with all of them.

This book is uplifting and reminds you just how important friends are. About halfway through the book I had the sudden urge to write letters to my close friends ( I haven't yet, but I will). But as the first week back to school just wrapped up today, I feel like this book has made an impact on my daily interactions with my friends already. (Also with the help of my contacts I can actually recognize people now) I've been running into old friends a lot this week and this book has reminded me how even short conversations and catch ups with friends can make you feel good at the end of the day. I even called my best friend (more like frenemy, but he's a guy, is that weird?) today to share some good news with him which he sincerely congratulated me on.

Julie Klam, through her good humor and personal anecdotes has taught me little lessons in maintaining my friendships and has reminded me of how wonderful they are when you need them most.

I'm not the best long distance friend either but I'm making small strides in keeping in touch with my friends back home and my friends here at school.

I definitely recommend this book to everyone (I don't say that often), its a fun enjoyable read that will have you smiling in public places (if you choose to read it at the school library like I did).
