Great story, great art, and the first Muslim-American superhero ever (that I know of). Highly recommend this.

So much fun and a relatable heroine. Not all of the plot makes sense, but I just rolled with it.

This was great. Totally out of my normal genre, and I wouldn't have ordinarily picked it up, but they talked about it on Pop Culture Happy Hour, and I was intrigued. It lived up to their hype. I especially enjoyed the insight into being a young Muslim woman of immigrant parents in America. The subject was treated with a kind and holistic view, that I thought made it more approachable, in a not preachy way. I look forward to more!

April 2020 reread
This still stands as one of my favorite Marvel comics ever. I love Kamala so much. And it’s so fun to see how’s far she’s come from here. Love it.

I really enjoyed this! I related so much to Kamala because Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel has been my favorite superhero for years now and seeing this teen fangirling over her reminded me so much of myself?

Also!!! The representation was great? Kamala is great??? Yes?????

My favorite of the first three volumes, for the same reasons it's my 8yo's least favorite: lots of character building, great dialog, and world setup. Not so much with the costumes and fight scenes.
We both love the sight gags and Adrian Alphona's art.

A YA comic aptly showing that the grass isn’t necessarily greener, and definitely be careful of what you wish for.

Young Kamala is often stifled by her family’s strict rules but when her wish to help others is granted by the infamous Captain Marvel, of course being a superhero isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be.

Good themes and good message for all teens and points for showing female strength with plenty of growing pains!

This is my first marvel comic to ever read and I loved it! Since the Ms. Marvel tv show is set to come out who knows when I decided to try to read the story. Thought next time I chose what comic to read I want to make sure it is short but knowing marvel Kamala’s character could die so many times and be resurrected who know how many more times. I loved this opening to the characters though and can’t wait to see her on screen!
