The writing is beautiful and the story is captivating - giving a voice to a previously voiceless biblical character

Powerful story on the connections of women.

Would recommend this book to anyone, and have suggested to most of my friends they read it.

One suggestion is if you read via Kindle to take a photo of the family tree at the beginning as I referenced this page in my hard copy countless times to clarify on names and connections.

Excellently written. Diamant brings to life a centuries-old Bible story many of us have grown up knowing, but never heard from a female perspective. Although this is clearly not told from a Christian bias, it does challenge deeper thinking about the Old Testament. A few parts were a bit too far-fetched for me, especially the negative slant given to almost every prominent patriarch mentioned, but I can still say this has easily become one of my new favorite books that I intend to read again before I die.
