This was a fascinating book that gave a (albeit fictional) voice to an overlooked biblical character. I personally didn't care to analyze it through the lens of the biblical account, but rather tried to read it as a work of fiction, which is what it is. It's not trying to be canonical, so why would I treat it as such? It's a good story with intriguing characters and strong writing. That's good enough for me.
