I picked this book up for two reasons. First a close friend recommended it and second it is the a fictional story of Dinah from the old testament Bible. This intrigued me as I new of her excistence and wondered what a story about her would be like. The book was well written and I loved that it was a feminist view of events from the old testament. I highly recommend reading it.

I was hesitant to read this one...not sure I would like it, but I LOVED it. So much so it is now a favorite. It was spellbinding and at times heartbreaking. A very well told story that held my attention all the way from beginning to end.

I admit that I really loved this book, although I suppose it's trashy in the way Clan of the Cavebear was. Is there such thing as Prehistorical Smut as a genre?

It was salubrious reading for me. This is pretty much retelling story of biblical story but with many perspectives of female character which I come to appreciate. In bible story, there are not many of female story have been told or rather become outcast for their “wrongful doing” or forgotten. As little kid, I always loved to read about bible stories just to learn something meaningful behind them. Until now, I didn’t realized I was longing for some female perspective. This book gave us a glimpse of biblical story about female and their experiences as Canaanite village. It contained that men won’t dare to talk about; menstrual talk, childbirth, values of Canaan cultures, and close kin of family.
