Listened to this as an audiobook.
An essay that focuses on two community projects that sprung up in the wake of Hurricane Maria and the Government's woeful inaction.

Fantastic (and quick) read! Can't wait to read more from Naomi Klein, and learn more about Puerto Rico.

Not sure what I was expecting. But it just felt like I was reading the same editorials and articles from that year.

Both infuriating and hopeful. A good, but very brief, overview of the disaster capitalist efforts & those resisting these efforts in Puerto Rico. This story feels very relevant to what is happening in places like Hawaii and Gaza right now.

This was a quick read/listen about disaster capitalism and community care in Puerto Rico following the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. Klein's writing is straightforward and incisive. I appreciated this book for highlighting how Puerto Ricans came together to help save themselves when government abandoned and failed them (and continues to abandon and fail them). Puerto Rico deserves more than to be sold for parts to the highest bidders.
