Morrison just always gets me right in the feelings. So many of her stories focus on joy and this one is no exception.

This short story is about Jason and Philip who have been a couple for over 10 years. They are both still happily in love with one another but some small issues have been piling up concerning their D/s scenes and Jason's mobility. There is so much to these characters despite the short word count.
Both things are handled with care and respect as the couple works through them and it culminates in a sweet bedroom scene.

I've received an advanced reading copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I can't not love anything Reese Morrison writes. Sorry, just not possible.
Once again, this was not my kink at all but I liked the way the author wrote about her character's needs and mostly their relationship. Jason and Phil have been together for a long time and the problems they face in this story reflect that.
More the sex scenes or passionate conversations, which I really appreciated was how Reese gave us two soft people in love with their spouse, that showed their commitment and worship to each other with small mindful acts such as noticing when the other was having a bad day and cooking their favorite meal and letting them relax or hugging in the couch and watching tv.
I also really loved that we got some beautiful trans representation and with one of the men being significantly older and dealing with a disability comes with its own insecurities so we got casual and not so casual conversations about gender expectations pre and post-op, getting older, dealing with pain and a degenerative condition and how that does not affect the love they feel for each other, how they still love each other's bodies, scars, wrinkles and hair and all the things that make us human.
This was delightful, simply delightful.
Thank you to Reese Morrison for allowing me to review this DRC.
