Un bien sympathique policier, sans prise de tête, sans effet de manche superflu (ou si peu). Les personnages sont sympathiques également, hauts en couleur pour certains, avec une mention spéciale pour le commissaire, personnage farfelu et direct, avec qui on a envie de taper la discute et de manger un bout.
L'intrigue, ma foi, se défend aussi, agrémentée d'un petit fond historique qui colle plutôt bien au tout.
Je ne sais pas trop si cette critique est tout à fait objective, car je n'arrive pas à vraiment pointer du doigt ce qui m'a particulièrement plu ici ; peut-être la simplicité de l'écriture? Quelque chose de direct mais précis dans les descriptions, dans le déroulement de l'histoire? Allez savoir...

This book would be an easy 4-star rating if there wasn't the scene between underaged Bordelli and a maid. I really don't get what the writer wanted to say with this scene. Maybe it was not translated properly and lost its meaning between the lines. As it is, it's weird and disturbing.
Apart from this scene, the crime plot seemed plausible and it really kept me reading. I ended up finishing the book in one afternoon.
In a more humorous tone, there aren't many things one should know about cars. In fact, I think there is only one: the engine of the VW Beetle is in the back of the car!

A curious case, even if it's not the tightest plot in the world. A fine detective story, but Bordelli feels like a watered down Montalbano in places, right down to the gourmandise.
