This book did improve over the first book but I don't love the pace. It's suuuuuper slow burn like just kissing .... Which is lame but then finally in this book some actual steamy stuff happens. There is a lot of obvious foreshadowing and my favourite thing (sarcasm) happens a lot where stupid miscommunication or lack of just sharing information leads to bad things happening or conflict exploding.... Which as a reader frustrates me. I almost gave up 3/4 through this book but I stuck it out. Overall I'm 50% invested in this series right now, hoping the next one gets better. 3.75 stars.
Edited to add - I DNF'd on book three. This series just isn't for me.

That was so cute and wholesome.

But I really could have done without a big battle, so short after reading Throne of Glass. Every fight now feels a bit rushed.

5 on the spice scale. Plot while good- does take a backseat to the smut.

OMFG I am speechless. I don't know how, but this book is 5 times better than the first one. I would die for these characters (especially Caspian and Farron). The relationships Elizabeth Helen builds are so complex. Rosalina was a total bad b*tch in this book. She really found herself and I loved seeing that. The spicy scenes were *chefs kiss*. Highly recommend this series if you like reverse harem, touch her and you die, morally grey men, and found family.
