Occasionally I feel very differently about a book than is popular. I look at the other reviews and wonder if I'm reading the same review. This is one of those books. I adored this book! I've never read a Sophie Ranald novel before but I assure you this wont be my last.

Archie and Natalie are planning their wedding. They're both easy going and would love a simple wedding. Dress from a shop in the mall. Wedding in the register office. Reception at the pub. Only Archie's mother and sister completely take over the wedding planning. Mother in law turns into the Bridezilla and so she won't dislike her, Natalie goes along with it. Only problem is its to the detriment of her relationship with Archie. Along with the wedding, Natalie is dealing with a sick grandpa, a stressful career, and a mom whos spent her whole life putting herself last.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was an easy five star read. Sophie is a master writer of women's fiction. She crafted a story that was in turn funny and heart warming. Each situation was absolutely believable and every character had depth and added warmly to the story. Instead of a textbook ending, the ending was happy, but maybe not what you'd think it will be. This is truly a happy escape read with love and humor in equal measure. I highly recommend!

Thank you to Bookouture, NetGalley, and Sophie Ranald for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Dont understand the title after reading the book...the title seemed as if she doesnt need a man to be happy but in the end she crawls back to him...

As Rom-Coms go this looked like it’d be a good one. However, I just couldn’t get in to it. Despite knowing the basis from the story thanks to the blurb, I felt it was very slow paced and just lacked anything to really grab me. The characters were not likeable and I just wanted to give Nat a shake.
Disappointed as I have enjoyed Sophie Ranald’s other books.

This is my second Sophie Ranald book. The first one I read was a few months back now and it was 'Sorry Not Sorry' and it was just EVERYTHING I needed in that moment in time.

Nat is your everyday, girl next door type of woman. She has a job in the NHS, has a few close friends and lives with her boyfriend. Her character is well developed and I related to her on a few levels. This book visits the stress of wedding planning, especially when your partner doesn't seem to have time to have an input in anything!

However, I do feel as though at some point I felt as though the story was getting pretty samey and I just wanted it to cut to the point. I felt as though there was just something missing from this book. I didn't get the exact same lighthearted feeling I had with the authors previous book. But, that is not going to put me off picking up more of Sophie Ranald's work in the future!

Thank you so much to Netgalley, Bookoture and Sophie Ranald for an arc of this in exchange for an honest review!

Nat is pretty happy with where she is in life. Great life in boyfriend Archie, good job, good friends. When Archie proposes, she looks forward to a low key wedding with their closest friends - but her in-laws to be have different ideas. Before she knows, her wedding has been hijacked and is going to be a huge affair. What’s worse, is Archie isn’t supporting Nat through the whole ordeal. Is this what Nat really wants?

Another easy, feel good book by Ranald! I loved that characters and places from previous books had guest appearances in this one. A must read for rom com lovers.

Thanks bookouture and NetGalley for the review copy.

If you like Brittish rom-coms you'll probably like this book.

Archie proposes to Nat and it's all that she wants. Or? The problem is, the planning of the event is kidnapped and speeded up by the future in-laws that never really liked Nat. Or did they?

The story is about Nats insecurities and about her doubt that she's loveable. It's also about the stress of the relationship - is it really strong enough, do they really know each other and why isn't he giving her support when she needs it.

The only problem with this story is Archie. He's not really as lovely as Nat says. I don't get a grip on him. He's always with someone else or at his shop, never at the rescue of Nat.

Nat on the other hand, I love her! She's a good daughter nd granddaughter. She's there for Archie. She's a bit pushover at the start but then grows.

Read it!

I kindly received an eARC advance copy of this book to read and review though NetGalley.

Nat and Archie have been together for six months when he proposes to her. She’s a sporty physio in a hospital and he owns a craft beer shop. Their happy relationship turns in a wedding frenzy and it’s not because of either of them but rather Archie’s mom and sister Daisy.

Nat and Archie were keen on a small registry wedding followed by a meal and their favourite eatery but his family have other plans. He doesn’t want to get involved and Nat doesn’t want them to think badly of her.

As things spiral out of control, eventually Nat calls off the entire wedding and Archie moves out. Sadly for 90% of the book she is just unhappy and too scared to say anything about it

Thank you to the author, Bookouture and NetGalley, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is not the first Sophie Ranald book I have received and reviewed via NetGalley, and I love the way the community around the Ginger Cat pub pops up in different books. I also liked the fact that she incorporated the pandemic into the story, as it's definitely a factor that has had a major influence on all our lives. Her characters are well-drawn and you get invested - loving them, being exasperated by them and hoping the best for them. Ranald's writing is as always witty, but the flow of this story could have used a bit of help. I felt the middle lagged quite a bit, and the resolution of the bridezilla dilemma was not at all credible. After ratcheting up to incredible levels of bridezilla-ism, all is resolved within two pages?
