hated junie. i also feel like i am aware of a lot of the discourse / not very interested in it atp. might have been ok if i was more invested in publishing discourse or there was literally anything/ anyone other than junie to read about. but like i didn't care abt junie or how she's feeling victimized bc her stories aren't as interesting to the majority of readers and she has no friends (probably bc she sucks)

Me gustó mucho.

Though meant to be a satire, this book hade anxious and on the edge of my seat! I found some of the commentary of the publishing industry interesting, though at some points, it did feel like the pacing started to lag behind. I enjoyed most the character depth and the relationship between Athena and June.  The unreliable narration from June is so clear from the beginning, and the different tensions of in her relationship with Athena (respecting her, resenting her, deriding her success, dismissing her friendship, grieving her death, and so much more, all at the same time) in the very first chapters drew me in.
