Great example of a framed narrative with much of the same style of humor that is in the film version.

This book is so insane. Layers on layers on layers of humor and meta commentary about things that are real, fake, fake that are construde as real, and real things that are construde as fake. William Goldmans constant asides were really well done and the novel just has a really good sense of humor. While the movie adaptation is done super well, I just love all the little moments we see that arent on the big screen.

(Fezzik is best boy btw. Refuse to read that first chapter of "Buttercups Baby" because of the title being "Fezzik Dies"

So, I decided to get the hardback 30th anniversary edition of The Princess Bride because the cover is beautiful! And I absolutley love the original version of this book! What's unfortunate about this is 1. The intro is 30 pages long. 2. The author complains incessantly about how he's being sued. 3. It's not a full copy of the book. You get half the book and one chapter from ButterCups's Baby, which may or may not be fully released at some point... 🤔

Save your money and get the original version of The Princess Bride! The illustrations are gorgeous and so is the cover, but the entire book is not present.
