Ace of Betrayal: An Angsty Second Chance Millionaire Romance by Jessica Jude, Jessica Jude
3 reviews
My overall ratings for enjoyment, romance, and spice are ⭐⭐⭐⭐/💖💖💖/🌶️🌶️🌶️. I did feel like some s*x scenes didn't really fit the vibe that was going on and were a little forced.
This story was so good. It was advertised as having Gossip Girl vibes, but I hadn't watched it before so I didn't really know what to expect. Since reading this I looked into Gossip Girl to find the similarities and I have been hooked 😅 Despite the toxicity of the friend group, I find myself drawn to their dynamic. They keep each other's dirty secrets and take out the enemies of their friends, no matter how petty. This book follows Walker and Heath as they come back into each other's lives after two years of being abruptly cut-off.
•dual POV
•second chances
•surfer x scholar
•high society
•toxic families
• forced proximity

First and foremost, I have to thank the amazing Jessica Jude for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC copy of Ace of Betrayal. I’m crazy late on this hype train because life likes to get to me at times.
The release of Ace of Betrayal was March 4th.
When I started to read this book… I felt like I had to slowly get into it. I hadn’t read any books having to do with High Society vibes since I read the Clique series as a child. Once I was fully engrained in the tail of Heath & Walker I couldn’t put the book down for the life of me. There were plenty of moments where I was questioning certain aspects of my own relationship and how I felt within it, as well as my place in it. This book threw a total curve ball at me when it started to feel just a little bit close to home. Although I will say that I love the growth of both Heath and Walker was a beautiful thing to experience. Both of them started to own up to their feelings and actions instead of running from them. I find myself running from certain situations and conflicts, much like they did in this book. I tend to close up and bottle my emotions for long periods of time. I just have never really enacted any revenge on anyone for any of the wrongs that they’ve done to me. I would definitely recommend this book to those that enjoy High Society story with romance.
If you haven’t read Ace of Betrayal yet, What are you waiting for? Go now!! You won’t regret it, I promise!

If you are a fan of Gossip Girl, this is the book for you! Thank you to the author and publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Rich kids, revenge plots, second chance romance, and characters that you somehow root for despite them being objectively pretty terrible people.
Loved:
Rich kids, revenge plots, second chance romance, and characters that you somehow root for despite them being objectively pretty terrible people.
Loved:
- Walker’s love of the spooky
- The way Jessica Jude built a whole new country somewhere between the US and the UK
- Walker and Heath learning so much about each other as the story went on. The surfing, the reading, etc.
Walker’s revenge on her friends by auctioning what they loved most for charity. What a classy way to get back at them! - The spice!!
Meh:
- The revenge poker games. You’re telling me that every week these 20-somethings choose someone to fuck with? It’s a small island (as far as I can tell), how are they still getting away with it?
Didn’t Like:
- How long it took for Heath to
stop the revenge plot against Walker. He kept saying he cared about her, but did nothing at all? I can understand his reluctance to tell the truth about cheating, but why didn’t he just say “Let’s not do this” - It was hard to root for the characters when they all kind of just seemed like bullies
- The lack of resolution
around Walker’s professor assaulting her. All that work and she just decides to give up on her dreams? I wanted more from that
I will say I am looking forward to the next book in the series!
