this book was good! some parts felt a little rushed/could have been explored a bit more, but overall i really liked it. excited for book 2.

It’s giving gossip girl vibes. Really enjoyed the love story, the Smitt was well written, sometimes I can find it jarring but not here. Loved the writing style, it felt relatable (despite the cast all dripping in money)

Read this book to prepare for the next book in the series. I have been selected to be a part of the ARC group and I had to make sure I understood the characters. I am glad I did.
First question, how do any of these people have money? It never says what they do or what their parents do except for Pierce but they can afford to go to Paris or Milan for a weekend trip is crazy! Also their revenge tactics sure do seem odd and a little immature.
In the beginning our FMC seems like a wishy-washy busy body who loves dark things but as the story goes on she gets a tad more complex and we finally see why she was so wishy-washy. Over the book I applaud the growth that she takes to be herself and choose what is right for her.
Our MMC though, I am not sure how I feel about him. He seems like a protector in the beginning but then he does things that are out of character because of who he thinks he is.
The author does let us know this is a second chance romance and cheating is done in the past but I still wanted some grovelling.

While I'm not a big fan of cheating, I do love a truly remorseful hero and a second-chance love story. The secrets and plotting throughout the story kept me intrigued, and the emotions of Walker and Heath as they worked through their painful past (with some spicy scenes thrown in!) kept me engaged. The resolution of the game was a bit of a surprise, but a happy one - and I enjoyed the journey to their HEA. Looking forward to the next book in the series!

what a book! as someone who grew up watching gossip girl, this was such a throwback with a Twist. getting to see the growth in Heath and Walker throughout the book felt authentic. my only wish? that walker made heath grovel a little bit more at the end, but thats probably just because I love a man who grovels 😂

For the most part, most of this group of people are just terrible garbage people. They have redeeming moments, but generally
are forgiven too easily, especially by Walker. Heath I can get, but the “friends” I just don’t know why she forgave them so easily.

I read this book because I'll be getting an ARC for the second book, and I've been struggling with how to rate it. I didn't have many complaints about the writing style but I couldn't find a single character I liked. Every one was either a major a-hole or just irritating. Some characters were introduced for maybe one scene then never seen again and hardly mentioned after.
And the whole thing with the teacher that was never really resolved and just let go. Like honestly, what was the point in bringing it up?
The main characters were weirdly suspicious about technology but still use technology. Like the FMC used a VPN to Google an author but still uses cloud service for photos? Didn't make sense to me. Also very annoying that every thing says the FMC is a bookworm but she hardly read a single book the entire time.
There are several revenge plots while some are funny and clever, others are downright diabolical (in the best way). Props for creativity!
The forgiveness happened way too fast for me and just came out of nowhere. He barely had to work for it. The apology seemed so superficial and basic. Like they picked the most common trope and rolled with it.
The ending felt like everything was tied up a little too well. Like everything worked out too perfectly.
The difficult character is in jail, they bought a house that wasn't for sale because she really wanted it and succeeded, and now they're all best friends again.

I doubt I'll ever reread this one but I'm hopeful about the second.
