it took me a bit to get used to the style and language, but once i did, this book was a dream! so vivid and beautiful! eloquence is the perfect word to describe this stunning set of vignettes! mango street is terribly beautiful and incredibly real.

Cisneros has written a moving and important work in a brief space. I didn’t know what to expect, but appreciated the sharing of untold stories through the vignette style she chose. A real and sorrowful, yet breathable piece of work. A quick read that deserves extra space for one to sit with a piece and process.
