Can’t believe I’ve never read this! Very much enjoyed. Beautifully crafted and I thoroughly enjoyed her prose and manner of storytelling (in particular surrounding the darker content).

this is one of those books where I mentally couldn’t read it all in one sitting, it was so raw and heavy but so beautiful at the same time. the struggles of a latina girl growing up are so clear in this book and resonated with me even if this book was written so many years ago
