J'ai beaucoup aimé, les poèmes étaient vraiment très beau et j'adore la moral de ce livre ‘mon corps, mon choix’.

I've seen a bunch of people make fun of these poems since this was released years ago so my expectations weren't that high to begin with. But it's literally not even poetry most of the time, she's just stating things. Thanks to Wikipedia, I know that's her style but like. seriously? I could do better than that. I had to skip the long paragraphs too. I just wasn’t interested in anything else but getting thru it so I can catch up on my reading goal.
"baby lick me" and "manhood" made me cringe so hard that I had to take off .5 stars from the 2 star rating I'd established about a third of the way thru.

This had been on my TBR awhile, I don’t read a lot of poetry books but I’d wanted to give it a try after seeing some of Kaur’s poems around. it was a very fast and very personal read, I’ve saved a few of my favorites. I also loved the illustrations.

I apologize to the author for rating it so low. It was just really hard to identify with and I recognize it just wasn’t for me, but I’m glad to have read it.

Rupi Kaur is a marvelous feminist poet and her words ooze with beauty and truth. I loved the different sections of this book and all the poems no matter how short were truly iconic.
