I understand that milk and honey is a very popular yet divisive book. I personally found the poetry in the book underwhelming. The line breaks seem to be placed randomly and feel like they exist just to give the text the appearance of a poem. There were a few lines sprawled across the pages that did make me pause and think but they were too surface level and did not explore the depth of abuse. Overall, it just feels like a gimmicky cash grab.

This book is a slap across the face.

some poems are very raw and detached, others are more kind and self-forgiving.

Every women should read this book. Loved it!
