this is a weird one to review because the beginning was so utterly bizarre i felt lost. like very lost. like i kept reading because the book was short and i really wanted to give it a fair chance.
with that being said, the end was very very cool. about 2/3 of the way through the book i though "oh hey, THERE IS A PLOT!" and was subsequently very excited that i was starting to follow along more rather than spending the whole time confused. i loved how it ended, it was kinda trippy and bizarre and definitely made the beginning slog worth it.
while i totally get that the beginning half of the book is intentionally vague, i was mildly frustrated with how little i understood what was happening. i think a reread would really give me a full appreciation of the story that the author was weaving, but with the knowledge of how it ends, i think the drive to finish the book would vanish. so for that i will chalk it up to a decent reading experience, satisfying but not mind blowing.

Es dauerte leider fast drei Viertel des Romans bis ich mich in die Geschichte einfinden konnte, dennoch gefielen mir der Schreibstil und die Beschreibungen. Die Tatsache, dass der Leser nicht genau wusste wie die verschiedenen Handlungsstränge einzuordnen waren verlieh dem Ganzen etwas durchaus Mysteriöses, dass bestimmt nicht jedem gefallen würde.
