This book was fine. I struggled to care about the plot and the characters. The characters were decent, the plot was alright, and the writing style was okay.

This story was cute. I didn’t like the characters in the beginning, but they grow on you throughout. It gets a lot better at the end of the story. Not really my kind of thing, but I appreciated all the sci-fi/fantasy references.

Alright, this was cute!

I didn't love Geekerella as much as I hoped I would, but I did download the second and third book on a whim because Audible had them for free. I chose to listen to this after going through my first ever reading slump and it was just the lighthearted story I needed to kind of brush that dust off myself and get back into my books.

My biggest con with this book (pun not intended) was the way that Imogene kept thinking that Ethan was admiring her just because she was playing the role of Jess. Her internal monologue about how there was no way he could see her as someone separate was just really irritating. However, I guess if you're looking at it from the perspective of a seventeen-year-old, maybe it makes some sense because that maturity just isn't there yet. I don't know.

I absolutely loved the character growth that Jess went through. She was someone I didn't like at all when I first began reading, but by the end, she was my favorite character. Seeing her accept herself and her sexuality, find the things that she loved outside of acting, and really toss off what others thought about her was super cool. I appreciated that a lot.

The switching places trope is one I've always found amusing and it's interesting to see how it was done in this setting. I do love reading about the con itself and I frequently find myself wishing it really existed because it sounds like a blast. Same with the show, honestly. I could see myself being just as much of a fangirl as Imogene (okay, maybe not that much but still).

It was cute how there were little nods to Geekerella throughout this one, like Sage making an appearance, The Magic Pumpkin being at the con, etc. I love how these books are great as standalones but how they're even better when read together. Overall, very cute. Nothing spectacular, but definitely cute.
