What an excellent, fresh and candid slice of American history, told through women's experiences! I read this as research for my podcast, Advanced TV Herstory. If you watched and enjoyed the 1979 TV miniseries, Backstairs at the White House, starring Olivia Cole, Leslie Uggams and scores of other talented actors, you will find it to contain true morsels from this book. A great read for ages 12 and up.
