Holy shit this book was good. Like whew Holly ya really cooked with this one. I mean from the constant fixation on random stuff to the foreshadowing of stuff from the very beginning, this really was a good thriller mystery. Also the way
I so wanted Oliver to die but in my head being like “nah he’s too nasty to not live” and then him actually dying? ✨Perfect✨
By the way, Red really had me scared for a moment there. Although her talking again with her mom was sweet and all, it was also devastating. Luckily she pushed through.

Considering the premise of the book I thought it would be much faster paced than it was. 6 teenagers rent an RV to go to spring break in California. They take a wrong turning and blow a tyre, only to find after replacing it that all their other tyres have blown too. Coincidence? Of course not! It turns out there's a sniper outside and at least one of them has a secret that is worth killing for.
The main character is Red. We spend a lot of time in her head which I personally found slowed the narrative down, as we deal with her inner turmoil as she battles with not only the guilt over the death of her mother years ago as well as the secret that she's been told to tell no-one.
But her friends lives hang in the balance, and it turns out she's not the only one with a deep dark secret. Would have been a 4 star read if we had had switched perspectives a little but other than that a solid read.

The ending is very similar to a Good Girls Guide tk Murder. Like the parent of the best friend.

It was so unbearably slow  😒.  I almost gave up becase it seemed as if nothing was progressing a quarter into it. After
it's revealed that the signal is coming from someone inside the RV, it speeds up tho.
Red was an annoying character, and so was Maddy. However, i did come to appreciate their quirks once conflict arose. Maddy is still not redeemed from
siding with her brother, who obviously had problems, over Red.
Compared to AGGGTM tho, the book is lacking. 🫡 a nice read by the end but not re-readble ❤️‍🩹
