In short: a bunch of bros fawn over the same lady and once said lady shows signs of vampirism, they all collectively agree to give their lives to save her. This results in a pack of posh gentlemen and van Hellsing traveling to Transylvania for the express purpose of shit stomping Count Dracula into the afterlife. They are successful in their endeavor and they all live happily ever after. Well, except for Quincey, poor Quincey.

Although it wasn't quite what I expected, I enjoyed it a lot. I guess I always assumed that Dracula was a more active character than just the group tracking him down and killing him. I guess I've seen too many movie/TV adaptations that shaped my expectations and the book was nothing like that. Like I said before it's a great book, just not what I had expected.

Idea is really good, and there are times where it shines, but damn, is the writing long winded, the plot go all over the place, the concept of having it be collected journal entries not even matter, and still has just a flash of 1800's sexism.
