Sophie’s death has rocked the remaining sisters and the queens plan has been revealed.

Triz finds an unlikely ally in nigellas in her discovery of being an emperoya.

In this book we have the introduction of a new perspective following Sophie’s death in violia.

I enjoyed how much Triz came into her character and I like her and Pas’ friendship.

Although Daphne initially annoyed me and I didn’t like her in the first book. I liked that her turning against her mother and what she was raised to do was a slow discovery of her warring with everything she has know.

I am very interested as to how this series is going to end because I have no idea what is going to happen next.

I really liked how the magic system was fleshed out in the book, and Daphne’s storyline was satisfying, but this didn’t fully live up to the first book for me. I didn’t mind Violie’s POV being added, but she was too similar to Daphne and Beatriz. Sophronia’s POV added some nice variety to the first book and I found myself missing it. Also, a good two thirds of the book takes place in the same location, and I was missing the alternating settings of the first book.

I was a bit worried starting out, because my favorite character died at the end of the first book, but I really grew to love the other two, and this book added so many more complicated layers. I can't wait for the third book to come out!

This book lived up to the hype that was the first book. I felt I could connect more with the characters than in the first book.

Being able to tap into the inner monologue of the sisters as well as the different ways that people express grief and loss of a loved one.

I am excited for the release of the next book in 2024. June cannot get here faster.

surprisingly i ended up liking this more than the first book, also like okay i didn't actually believe that sophie died, but now that am i through the whole second book without no sign of her maybe I am a bit scared that she might be actually dead, i am still not sure what it was with daphne in the aurora borealis, like was that a vision of sophie or something else (?) and will say though the ending caught me off-guard but are we surprised that their bitchass mom is always five steps ahead, i still think beatriz's character and her pov are my favourite and to think that her getting betrayed by the same person twice doesn't make me feel too well, also there's so much uncertainty around her, her magic, niccolo, and truly even though I am glad she has pas, i can't say I like him very much. daphne was a huge focus and her plot progressed the fastest but i can't say i enjoyed reading her parts especially in the beginning. while it was realistic cause she was the one mom had most claws in, it was tedious to read, It keeps being brought up how sophie was the soft and foolish one but i honestly believe the most naive one between them three was daphne, but she's still the cleverest of the three, i won't deny that. i didn't expect much from violie's pov but i actually did end up liking it. I can't believe I have to wait till 2024 for the next book cause after that ending i NEED to know what happens istg
