There’s a little to much chase in The Chase. For most of the book, Fitz earnestly acts like a guy who doesn’t want to be caught. But a little nudity totally solves that and all his other relationship issues, right?

There was such a great tone of feminism throughout the book, but then there’s some weird shit like admiring a Nazi collaborator, and casual cocaine use.

At first, I was being a total Fitz and taking Summer at surface level - so much so that I considered stoping at about 10%. Then I realized that was unfair, so I gave it a few more chapters and ended up really enjoying Summer as the MFC. Her struggles with ADHD were handled really well and I appreciated the attempt to show her adaptation to alternate learning methods.

However, while I ended up enjoying probably the first 80%, the last 20% just tanked - everything moved at light speed and it all got wrapped up with a pretty bow much too quickly.

She's my muse, my laughter, my trigger, my desire, but most of all, shes my heart

I think I expected a little bit more from this book than what I got. I loved Summer, she's one of those women that you just instantly fall in love with, Fitzy however, didn't hit the right spot. He didn't have the glamour that the Off-Campus boys had. He felt kinda detached if that makes sense, also he never said any cute things to Summer about what she was to him or anything. It felt like they weren't each other's forever person yk.

I loved how Kennedy included Summer's learning disability and the gradual realisation and growth that she experienced because of that. I thought that was a really nice addition to have.

The only time that I really loved Fitzy was when he went all primal, other than that, he felt like a side character. The boys' friendship was a sore point as well, I expected them to be just as close with each other as the last 4, and I was heavily disappointed.

Because Summer Heyward-Di Laurentis makes everything possible.

I am absolutely in love with this book. It was probably my favorite book in the series so far. Fitzy and Summer are both endearing on their own, but together they are even better. The book is steamy but charming. Is this series the hard-hitting, enriching series of our time? No. Is it addicting? Absolutely.
