Jennifer Hillier has done it again! Another cracker of a mystery thriller!

Wonderland followed Vanessa Castro, a single mother of two who has just started her new job as Deputy Chief of Seaside PD. On arrival a dead body is found at the local amusement park “Wonderland” and as Vanessa investigates the parks history it appears something sinister might be going on.

I couldn’t put this down! Whenever I thought I had my suspect I would then start to question myself as the plot and the twists unfolded. I did not predict who the killer actually was which was a really nice surprise! The last 50 pages or so of this book were a non stop thrill ride and twists just kept coming.

I really enjoyed the setting and the characters were well developed in my opinion. I’m not the biggest fan of Vanessa, she slut shames at one point and then leaves her fourteen year old to babysit her seven year old so she can meet up and have sex with someone while an unidentified serial killer is on the loose but apart from that this was a solid read.

This is the third book I’ve read by Jennifer Hillier so far and so I feel I can definitely recommend her work. If you love dark and disturbing thrillers she is your girl!

Good book. It kept my interest and I loved the characters and their development. I wanted to know more about John John. Many twist and turns which were surprising and gave answers to unanswered questions. Thought I had the antagonist figured out and thought “hmm that was easy, a little too easy”. But there is a surprise twist at the end that no one sees coming.
