It was pretty good. As good as the first two in the series. I liked the twist with Madison at the end, but would've liked to see more of Linda and Lee in the picture. Overall good.

I only got into the book during the last 300 or so pages (there were 1,479 pages on my iPhone), which is such a shame. The first three-fourth of the book was really slow. I felt like nothing important really happened. However, the last part of the book was so action-packed, filled with tension and just plain AWESOME! I think it greatly makes up for the seemingly lackadaisical beginning. This seems to be the case with all of the books in the series. Boring & slow beginning + Totally mind-blowing ending.
The characters, Madison and Jason, really annoyed me. They were very whiny, but I didn't realize I had grown quite attached to them until the last part of the book. That fact that all the characters, especially Leesha and Seph, had grown and developed so much throughout the series made me so emotional! I would've given this book 3 stars but it gets a +1 because of its amazing ending and its amazing character development!
Overall, this was a pretty action-filled book with a fast-paced plot. It only picked up toward the end, so if one of your pet peeves is a slow beginning then this might not be the book for you. Also, why would you start from the middle of the series?!

The Dragon Heir picks up seamlessly after "The Wizard Heir," diving deeper into Madison and Jason's journeys. The story revolves around the stolen Dragon Heart and the escalating conflict between Wizards and Trinity. We see Seph McCauley rise to the challenge of leadership, while Leander and Linda embark on a puzzling mission.
Chima's richly imagined world of Weir and Anaweir continues to captivate. The story is fast-paced and engaging, with the exception of some frustrating moments.
Madison's strange abilities and secrecy create tension, while Jason's impulsiveness can be tiresome. Leander and Linda's unexplained side quest also feels unresolved.
However, the intricate plot with its diverse characters and guild dynamics keeps you invested. The satisfying climax, featuring teamwork and sacrifice, leaves you eager for the series conclusion.

This was definitely not my favorite book of the trilogy. I have never liked Jason's character, so having him as the protagonist who we're supposed to sympathize with was more annoying than interesting. This really wasn't too bad of an ending to a great series; though the overall plot was kind of tepid and the ending was a little bit pathetic. The Dragon Heir wasn't as good as the others by a long shot, for me, anyway - nonetheless, a must-read if you've been caught up by the first two installments.
