Mr Wrong Number by Lynn Painter is about Olivia, who is the clumsiest person there is. Due to an accident, she has to move in with her brother and his best friend, Colin. When a random number starts to text her, she begins to talk openly about her feelings and what she enjoys during sex. Mr Wrong Number also opens up. But Colin soon realizes that Olivia is his wrong number, but Olivia has no idea who her wrong number is. Then they start slowly falling for each other in real life and things get more complicated.

So, basically, I came for the smut. I read so many good things about this book. Everyone seemed to compare it to Ali Hazlewood's books and as I absolutely loved them, I was excited to read this book. But now I am a little disappointed. Olivia and Colin miss some chemistry. Don't get me wrong, there was some chemistry, but it didn't spark. I couldn't connect with Olivia at all. She only wants to hear what she believes is right. There were so many problems in this book between Olivia and Colin that could have been easily resolved by talking to each other. The sex scenes were steamy, but not as steamy as everyone made it sound.

This book just wasn't what I thought it would be. It wasn't bad, but I expected something different.

Imaging getting a random text asking what you are wearing, and you decide to play into the joke and text back. It turns out that maybe the stranger isn’t so bad after all and is kinda nice to talk to. Olivia is the lowest point in her life. She may or may not have been apart of burning down her apartment building, her ex dumped her for her ex-work best friend, and she lost her job. Liv moves in with her older brother, Jack, and his best friend, Collin, until she can get back on her feet. Her and Collin have always been at each other’s throats since they were kids.

Living in a tight space might cause some challenges. Especially when Collin is the random number Olivia has been texting. In Collin’s eyes? His perspective of Olivia being his brother’s baby sister might change.

The story was sweet and funny. As a reader, I was cheering for Olivia to have something good happen to her. The whole texting the random number was funny but Collin should have told her a lot sooner. That would have made the plot better. It could have been a cuter love story.

I also strongly disliked her perception of Collin (she thought he was a rich country club guy). Their argument was also never resolved. It’s like they sudden got over it and made up too quickly. Bit of a red flag. Their constant bickering also got on my nerves SO much.

This was a rather impulsive read - I saw it and went for it. Probably tried to distract my mind after the last book. It's was a rather fast read too, I was flying through the story!

All this nothing has meant more to me than so many somethings.

Olivia and Colin had a "hate" relationship from their younger years that was just teasing and nonsensical assumptions, but besides that they were kinda fun together. Their chemistry was good, but sometimes it felt like the didn't have any actual feelings for each other, just sexual tension. That's where the fun fling started and of course, it turned into love.

Maybe I should move. To another country.

I felt bad for Olivia and her infamous luck, her family annoyed the fuck out of me with their attitude, they treated her as if she was always going to fail or fuck things up (she really had bad luck tho)
I liked the texting aspect, but the story itself could've had more plot - some characters seemed to serve no purpose whatsoever. Regardless, a fun story and a quick binge-read.

VERY FUN! Definitely steamy to the max, and had an annoying last-act breakup, but I love these tropes and the characters. Lynn Painter is a new favorite, and I'll keep reading her books — for every age — as long as she keeps publishing!

The main character was an absolute disaster, but this was overall fun and tropey and the banter is great!
