Such a sweet, imaginative story! I loved these characters and the concept was just so clever. It was hopeful and sad and funny and heartwarming, just a wonderful little treat of a book!

Started off a bit odd with how the relationship between lillian and madison are introduced, but then the story got better once the kids were intriduced. Loved the relationship between lillian and the kids. The candidness. The depiction of 10 year olds seemed a bit unreal, but also these kids grew up under peculiar circumstances so who knows.
