I read this in between books when I needed something light and fun. The text format makes it easy to read, and it made me reminisce my early internet days (wow I sound old) when I would first start messaging a new internet friend and find out all these minute but interesting things about them. This book really shows that you can reveal so much about yourself over text - slowly at first, because it's hard to open up and get into the thick of it - but not having the face-to-face interaction makes it so easy to reveal all your innermost thoughts

Haley and Martin are hard to know at first, because you're thrown into the book with little to no introduction to their characters, but they slowly grow on you. I love Haley's intense love for reading absolutely everything, knowing the most random facts that make for interesting conversations. Maybe I'm strange, but it was relatable how excited she was about learning some random fact and telling Martin about it.

Despite the book focusing on the text messages of H and M, I felt that Haley was more of the main character. Maybe it's because she's the "sender" in the texts, or maybe its because she's not the one in the know that Martin isn't the Martin she thinks. It's always the main character who has to uncover secrets and make revelations, after all.

It's very sweet, seeing these characters talk about familial life and friends and just little high school things that get overlooked in most YA books. For a book in text format, it manages to be very personal.

It's definitely different to any other book I've read, which is really nice. Still there were a couple things I was not really into, or that I would've liked to be different. Like I would've loved some description, especially at the end. But overall is a really cute nice story, funny, and so so easy to read. Enjoyed it a lot.

A cute rom-com told solely in text messages. It was a quick read with good representation since Haley is demisexual and Martin is bi.

Can someone confirm how this ended please because I am so confused ??? This was a super quick read for me and I enjoyed the text format but I read the ebook copy and kept feeling like I was missing bits ?? Unsure if the ebook had some formatting issues (I didn't even realise that the MCs were demisexual and bisexual until I delved into some reviews after) or if it was clumsily written? Although I'm a bit lost it was a cute read lol!

This was a wonderfully quick audiobook that worked well with the all text message format, and I don't feel like I lost anything by not seeing it visually. But there was a kinda weird choice the narrator for Martin dig that bugged be to start with, but I got used to it. Haley and Martin have great chemistry and I really enjoyed seeing them get closer together over the course of the story. Both characters identify as a part of the LGBTQ+ spectrum (Martin as bisexual and Haley as demi sexual) which was a pleasant surprise. It's definitely not a large part of the story, but they do talk about their identities with each other. And while the plot hinges on miscommunication, it never really frustrated me like a lot of other miscommunication plots. A quick fun read that's great for summer.

Cute, fluffy, has some funny moments. Told all in text messages. The girl drama is excessive, and has a whiff of our heroine being "not like other girls."

Perhaps not believable for 17 year old people, but I liked their conversations.
