Still hitting the spot -in particular there is a genuine sense of humor to this series that pleases me deeply. I'm not sure that the Nina of this book is quite coherent with the side character Nina of the previous two but I'll give credit for hidden depths etc.

A lovely, charming love story, with some great characters. I liked how the main character was so confident within herself; she could be a little insufferable at times but that was part of the desired effect! I LOVED Noah (although he was too ‘perfect man’ because I feel relationships don’t fall into place that easily outside of romance books, but I guess that’s sort of the point!). I’m not a romance book fan, it’s not a genre I really read, so was never going to be 5/5 for me just because of personal preference and I can find the writing a little cheesy. However, loved the bookshop setting and the literary themes weaved into the story. Particularly loved
Noah and Nina’s trip away and the story of their romance, was heartbroken when he broke it off. The latter half of the book was amazing as I really began to feel it and couldn’t put it down.
started really slow and then got much better as the book went on

A sweet and cute little book, much alike the previous one. Lots of referenses to other books which. I really like the characters, the way they are fleshed out and have a lot of back story. Predictable but so sweet and a really good end plot!

This is a reread, and I enjoyed it so much. I loved it the first time round and i knew I would love it again. The romances in this series just get better and better.

Annie Darling has a great way with a story and it was lovely to return to the Lonely Hearts Bookshop and hear Nina's story. I'm a huge fan of this type of series where we return to the same group of characters, especially when written like Annie Darling does, it feels like catching up with a group of old friends.
Nina is quite a complex character, her love of Wuthering Heights and the passionate relationship of Cathy and Heathcliffe leads her to a life spent chasing that kind of relationship. She spends time lurching from one brief relationship to another and struggles to find her place in the world of her friends. Friends who, as we've seen from previous books, are settled and happy in their relationships. Nina represents something of a 'problem child' to those she loves, from her complex relationship with her mother to her friends in the vintage fashion world and her fellow bookshop staff members.
When Posy brings in a Business Analyst friend of her husband's to help the shop succeed Nina is immediately distrustful of him and then aghast when she finally puts his face to his name and realises that she has known Noah a lot longer than the few weeks he has spent assessing the book shop. Noah himself is a great character, funny and charming but with his own demons. Definitely not a Heathcliffe type. Will Nina be able to see past the lack of drama and embrace the unfamiliar feelings she has for him?
This is a gorgeous read, funny and engaging, Nina is incredibly sweet behind the bravado she offers the world and the end of the book left me cheering internally. I was sorry to finish it and I'm really hoping Annie Darling will be returning to the Lonely Hearts Bookshop very soon.
