I enjoyed this book, it really brought the relationships of the characters to life and had you rooting for them all! However, the plot was pretty easy to predict and some of the characters inner monologues were a bit repetitive.

It does deal with some serious themes so not exactly a light read, but a good book to read on holiday or if you want to imagine yourself living on a beautiful remote island!

I loved this!

So fast paced and just wholesome. There are some tough topics talked about but they are handled so well.

I myself am from a small town so could relate to the sense of community and small town gossip, though I could never imagine living on a small isolated island, definitely not for me.

I originally picked this book up as I found out one of the main characters names was Lorna, slightly vain I know but itโ€™s not every day my uncommon name gets used in a book. But in the end it was Alice who was my favourite character, her resilience and determination as well as how everyone looks to her just made me smile. If one day I can be like her, Iโ€™ll be happy.

Oh and one last thingโ€ฆ this made me cry! And thatโ€™s big as books never make me cry!

๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ Libby Page is definitely an auto pickup author for me, and I think her latest release might just be my favourite to date! I wanted emotion, beauty, deep relationships and a heartwarming plot. That's what I got with this wonderful book. Rather then focussing on exploring romantic relationships, Page tends to observe predominantly the tight bonds of friendship and community in her writing. This little island community, just like One Night on the Island, tore at my heartstrings and made me want to live with them through the hardships as well as life's happy simplicity away from mainland life. I have read a few books on island communities recently (I know - random theme!) and it's drawing me in - I can't help it. And when you have such a wonderful, diverse range of characters that come from all walks of life it makes that yearn to belong even more alive. This is what makes this book extra special, not just the main characters we follow. An amazing plot that had my devouring this book in 24 hours. I can't wait for what she has in store next

Slightly predictable but endearing and heartwarming all the same. The character development was far more important than the plot.  Excellent holiday read. A story about community and friendship. The first book that ive read in a long time that I haven't been able to put down.
