Glad I bought this as I'll be re-reading it....multiple times. Lots to digest, really loved the storytelling, the characters, the overarching themes. A lot of layers of comic goodness.

I was enjoying this book until the final chapter and all of a sudden I couldn’t figure out what was going on. Things happened too quickly and there wasn’t any explanation.

The illustrations weren’t really my vibe, a lot of ableism and fatphobia in the representations of evil characters.

Wow this was darker than I expected going in. Powerful meaning to it and great artwork.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get into it and I thought the storyline could be hard to follow at times.

This comic is an absolute treat for the eyes - it is visually stunning, and feels like there are layers upon layers of information and sheer pleasure you can get from the artwork (although much of that is far more visceral and perhaps a bit gruesome at times). Other reviews describe segments of this comic as a psychedelic dreamscape and it's true - in all the good and the bad aspects of that. There is so much happening visually that the actual plot can be hard to discern at times. There is clearly a rich and complex dystopia in these pages, but it seems ill-defined and I often lost the thread of what I was supposed to be picking up from within the pages.

I can't quite figure out if this was deeply satirical or deeply cliche?? But honestly I had a blast either way. The art is GRUESOME but so well done, the story unfolds organically and I never felt like there was any info-dump or dragging exposition like I often find in limited series like this. Loved it!

Brutal. Exceptional. Raw. Hopeful.

A beautiful, disgusting, fun, and muddled read. I honestly would’ve liked it better if every goddamn character didn’t appear to die six or seven times. Sigh.

i usually don’t pick up graphic novels, but i have a ton in my house already from my dad, and upon looking through the bookshelf i found this one and i’m so happy i read it. every time i read a graphic novel i feel inspired by the immense creativity it takes to create one. especially when it involves sci-fi and revolution with a woman as the main character? hell yeah! the art style & the message little bird carries throughout the story were two of my favorite things about this graphic novel!
