Whole lot of build up to literally nothing happening. An unnecessary death that did absolutely nothing for the plot.

I'm going to be honest, nothing really happens in this book. Like NOTHING. The whole book is leading up to this "big" event and then deflates like a balloon. I still found this book so intriguing though.
We're following a multitude of characters, getting chapters from different POV's including "The Squad" (cringey AF) which is a group of gossipy mothers, Alexa, a teenage girl with a successful YouTube channel, Rebecca, Alexa's mother who is recovering from losing her husband and Sherri who has just moved to the town and has a dark secret.
The amount of people in this book gets confusing at times, normally I don't mind lots of characters and don't get confused easily but these characters were so one dimensional it was difficult to remember who was who. Alexa is ridiculously stupid, she might be a teenager but she is not a young teenager so her decisions and her narrative sounded extremely juvenile.
Sherri's plot line was interesting but overall this was a cheesy, guilty pleasure mystery with no thrills. It was bit like McDonalds; it does absolutely nothing for you and is actually really bad for you but it's addictive and you can't stop consuming it. This book is McDonalds. Enjoy.

I read this in one day. It really made me want to get a lobster roll and an ice cream cone!
