I thought this was a fun read. I was a fan of butcher and blackbird and also the mindfuck series, so I assumed this would run in the same direction.

Although there were obvious differences, it still gave me that vibe and I enjoyed it. The writing wasn’t the best, but if you looked past that, the plot and twists were fun and I enjoyed the characters.

Leah was an interesting character. Not one I related to but one I was drawn too. I didn’t understand why she did what she did and why she worked with certain people. I was captivated by knowing.

Leah has a past that doesn’t shine a good light for her, but she’s made a name for herself as a famous pianist, who likes unaliving serial killers in her spare time.

And Liam is your average single father who loves working for the FBI and has a respectful moral code. He’s after who murdered these serial killers and he’s getting close to figuring it out.

I had fun with this book. It was a fast read that kept me engaged and interested from start to finish!

“He had to see her. His villain. His nightmare. His salvation. His doom. His promise of a new beginning or worthy end.”

I really enjoyed this. It was one of those books I just couldn’t wait to get back to. While I did find it to be decently predictable- the only real surprise being the epilogue -it was intriguing enough to keep me coming back.

I will say there were plenty of parts that were just annoying, but overall this was a fast paced read that I’d recommend to anyone looking for a serial killer story!

Thank you Netgalley for my ARC!

I am a short & sweet reviewer (if you don't know that by now). This book was really freakin' good! If you love thrillers, crime, serial killers, endings that will leave your jaw on the floor, and an awesome anti-hero... this book is for you. The writing in this book was a slam dunk; super descriptive with a perfect flow for a book like this.

5 stars.
