I've read some reviews and decided I'm not gonna try and finish this book, because I know I would have ended up loathing it and this way I'm just mildly annoyed.

3.5 stars - This was an easy-going and relatively slow paced m/m romance. It was an enjoyable read, although it was a little too slow in the middle, but it picked up pace once it hit the half-way mark. If you're a fan of slow build up to a relationship, to the whole student/professor romance (which is done in a tasteful way), and if you like a HEA, then you'll probably enjoy this.

I loved this book. Great characters, good story and I love the slow built up of the love.

August 10-11, 2012: I really liked this story. The story flowed nicely, and read easily for a longish book. I loved the tension build up at the start, after they get nearly there and then have to pace themselves! The side bets were fun. The issues of Wayne and Britton gave a bit of tension to the story, but no overly much. Nice steamy sex scenes too. Great read.

July 24-25, 2015 : this was one of my early reads inMM. I did still enjoy it, finding the battle with Britton the most intriguing this time. 3.5*

Good story but a bit too slow-moving. Interesting characters, more so in the beginning of the story than later as the plot progresses. One aspect of the plot was left glaringly unresolved/unexplained (I like all my loose ends tied up).

I really enjoyed this well-written romance between Eli, a young college professor, and Ash, the Marine who takes his class as part of a move back to civilian life. These guys were well portrayed in their similarities and differences, both likeable men, and very hot together. The relationship progressed believably slowly on an emotional level, the plot was interesting but not melodramatic. The implications of their quasi-forbidden relationship between teacher and student varied a bit in the climax of the story, but the resolution was fairly satisfying.

Nicely done. I love the chemistry between the two main characters, and of course the teacher/student element is a nice touch, especially since it's not a "someone taking advantage of a position of power" thing. Some of the drama was really overly long, though.

Cute and mostly sweet. A simple happy college love story. It did an okay job balancing the unethical decision of a professor to sleep with a student. Ash was adorable but Eli felt unfinished. I wish there were not chapters from Wayne’s perspective. It left the street with a jarring, unfocused sensation. Overall the story had too much going on and none of it cohesive: baseball, betting, the military, University life, hiking, family struggles, blackmail, bondage, work politics... it seemed so random. This book would have benefited from a more streamlined story and well developed characters.

LOVED Eli and Ash! So frigging cute and so HOT!

How can I resist a man that loved the Red Sox just as fiercely as he hates the Yankees?
