A cozy modern romantasy that was so cute and fun. I do wish the background characters were a little more fleshed out but I'm keen to see where Crane takes them in the next one.

Very sweet romance!

I'm always skeptical about romances involving the FMC's ex-bully but this one did well at showing how much the MMC truly matured as a person throughout all of the book.

This is the perfect monster romance if you don't like a lot of spice in it. I believe there were only 3 scenes about 6 pages each and some brief mentions of their attraction for the other and that's it.

Will definitely be reading the sequel when it releases!

◽️Dual 1st person POV◽️

A short, sweet, and mostly comfy fantasy romance.

The FMC was very insecure (which makes sense since she was bullied in high school), and it caused her to jump to conclusions every other chapter. There was more miscommunication in this short story than I usually like, and a ton of indecisiveness from the FMC, which made it a 4 instead of a 5 for me. I loved the setting, the worldbuilding, and most of the characters, so I would still recommend this book to anyone looking for a short, cozy read.

The MMC was very patient, sweet, and supportive. It would have been nice to have seen him be more apologetic for the things he did in high school, but he did try to make up for it throughout the story.

The supporting characters were great, and I'm looking forward to reading about them in the next book!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Although this is described as a 'Cosy Monster Romance', it's also pretty smutty, so be warned, Orc's have some unique physical attributes, and they are described at length in this book!

The enemies to lovers and romantic scenes all happened a bit too quickly for my liking. I wanted more tension and more build up, I wanted more enemies in the beginning. Instead, all the miscommunication happens at the end rather than the beginning.

The book is short, so a quick read, and the chapters flip back and forth between the main character perspectives.
