What can I say that I haven’t already said in my previous two reviews? These books are so much fun! Silly word plays, summer locations and activities with creepy undertones, sensitive portrayal of neurodivergence and mental health, funny observations of teenagers being glued to their phones, making fun of boondoggles and tie-dye. Plus, in this one we’re also getting a little bit closer to the overall mystery of the series. I’m already packing my bag for science camp at the Menacing Manor.

I just really love this series so much. It's mysterious and funny and fast-paced while still having really well-fleshed-out and likeable characters with so much depth and such clear motivations for their actions. I love how diverse the characters are and how so many kinds of being neurodivergent are represented in such a realistic way and in a way where it's totally normal that different people have brains that work differently from each other's and there's nothing wrong with that.  Honestly, I can relate to both Alexander's anxiety and Theo's ADHD. And I really like how the books acknowledge that there are things that are harder because of the way your brain works and things that are easier while really showcasing the strengths that the characters have from the ways they are neurodivergent. Plus, I love all the classic horror references and puns throughout. And I really love Wil's character. I'm glad we're getting more of her as the series goes on.

This series continues to get more and more intriguing. I really liked seeing the way this book focused in on the characters & what made them who they are, and it feels as if we are moving more into the overarching storyline as well. This series has all the best middle grade fun feels, and I can't wait to keep reading more.
