The sort of interview book that makes you wish you could have been in the room, to hear the in lection in their voices, to see their reactions, and feel the hesitation or intensity of their responses and inquiries. If you are a fan of the Work of Alfred Hitchcock then this will be a treat and very satisfying - if you are not a fan or are unfamiliar with his work, well, it may not be for you. Of course I have to ask, REALLY, you're one of the above?! That's criminal, as there is something in at least 2-3 of his find that everyone can appreciate and should be entertained/inspired by.

OK, so I make films, have been a film junkie most of my life, and was absolutely inspired by Hitchcock's films (& short story collections) since I was a kid but I can't believe you can't find one film that you enjoyed!? I'm not saying you should read this book when you find that film but please, watch Notorious, North By Northwest or Psycho and see where that takes you...

Everyone who's interested in film should read this amazing book. No where else is Hitchcock so sincere and serious. Truffaut's admiration for the master's work is apparent in every question, but he doesn't pull any punches, and ample time is spent on Hitchcock's missteps as well. There is a great deal of wisdom in this book, and honesty, and one can learn a great deal about Hitchcock's films, method, and personality from reading it.
