I loved the diversity in the cast of characters and the way Tia Williams approached chronic illnesses and described the lengths of pain it put Eve through. However, after discussing it with Rita I concluded this book tried too hard at being woke and the author might have forgotten to adapt the language to the historical context and the millennial generation Eve and Shane are part of.
The ending was a lovely one.

However, what an incredible love story! Imagine having seven days in June, then reuniting with this certain person 15 years later 😳
I loved the other characters too; they felt mostly well-rounded 🥰 Brilliant.
4 out of 5 stars for me ✨ Thank you!

I was both laughing out loud and crying throughout this book. Each character felt like a REAL person to me and not some odd caricature. I especially enjoyed Audre, Eva’s witty tween daughter, in whom I saw reflections of my younger self.

Strong content warning for themes of self harm and drug abuse. I do wish I knew this before starting but I do not believe this took away from the story.velsbooknook's review against another edition

The female main character Eva was so fun to read about. First of all she is an erotica writer and I found that to be so original and entertaining. But she also had her vulnerable side and fighting her demons from the past made her an amazingly well-rounded character.
She also is the mother of Audre, a 12 year smart, hilarious and empathic girl. She was probably my favourite character of the book. I love her!
Last but not least there is Shane, the male main character, who was having a wild youth shaped by drugs but is now working with troubled kids, trying to help them get on the right track.
All the characters are so raw and vulnerable you just have to root for them! I loved getting to know them better and seeing their interactions with one another.
It is probably one of the best romance books I have read so far. Love is hard and healthy relationships are even harder but the author did a fantastic job on portraying all the ups and downs that come with falling in love.
The spicy scenes also felt very real and normal, which is something I'm often missing in romance books, since they are often simply too much for me and sometimes a little cringe.
The book was a rollercoaster of emotions. I was laughing by myself but I was also having goosebumps all over my body. Even if you're usually not into romance pick this one up and give it a go - it really is worth it.

Definitely check the trigger warnings before reading if you think that’s something you’d need.
