The start of this book was amazing. You could picture yourself in the crime scene as Kara was living it. I had some ideas of who really did it and was surprised at the end. The end is the only reason this book didn't get 5 stars from me. I felt like it was all over the place and so many things crammed into "who did it".

I struggled to finish this book. The main character is the most annoying, unlikeable, unhinged character. It took me twice as long as normal to finish because I was so frustrated.

Found it dragged out a little too long

full of twists I didn’t see coming

Definitely did not expect the twists and what the ending was, making it a great read. Definitely one of Jackson’s best so far.

So this is my first 2 star rating. This was the least thrilling thriller I have ever read. There were just so many unnecessary words. Pointless dialogue. The same descriptions of the same things over and over. Too many characters. both those we met and didn't meet, whose existence added nothing to the story. I pretty much skimmed most of it, and the ending was just meh.

Overall, it was a pretty good read. I think towards the end it started to dip and get a bit rushed for such a big buildup over the course of nearly 400 pages...but still deserving of 3 & 1/2 stars, I feel.

I will say -- who was Jonas on his way to murder, Lacey? Was that it?

Also, Marlie's suicide really...didn't make much sense. That part really threw me.

It felt one dimensional. And 33% of the text was repeating the same details about the same event. Definitely would recommend skipping this one.
