So I decided not to rate this book till I have completely finished it but at this point, 256 pages in .... I'm gonna DNF this one right now. It's just not holding my attention, I'm not developing any attachments to the characters. I genuinely am not having any real desire to keep picking this book up. I keep forcing myself but it's low key putting me into a reading slump. I could have read 2 or 3 books by now in the time that it's taken me to get to page 256 in this book. I will try to reread this book at a later time and maybe it will hit differently.

It took me until page 270 to realize why they call Andre Dre..... I don’t want to talk about it

For someone that is supposed to be smart, she made some questionable decisions. Is that just part of being a teenager? It felt contradictory to the character that claimed they could 'read people', while frequently doing things that made it clear they barely knew what anyone else was thinking.

this book was eh alright. it could definitely be engaging and is an interesting plot that i hope isn’t remotely based in current reality but it kinda felt … i don’t even know cheesey perhaps? the build up was nice but the ending felt inconsistently sappy like the mood changed suddenly because the author wasn’t quite sure how to wrap it up in a happy way.

was an entertaining read but i can’t say i fully understood the hype
